A privately-owned airport in New York has been put up for sale to developers for an asking price of $3,75 million.

Sky Acres Airport is situated on 120 acres of land in Dutchess County, town of Union Vale, New York, and is the reliever airport for Westchester County Airport.

The total 151-acre site that is up for sale is split between 82 acres of development land – including a residential flying community, hangars, and town homes – and 69 acres of actual airport property such as the 3,800m runway, taxiway and multiple airport-related buildings.

The sellers are asking for $2million for the development land surrounding the airport and a further $1.75million for the airport property.

Sky Acres Airport currently has 15 privately-owned  hangars on land that is leased from the airport, as well as five which are on land purchased from the airport.

Furthermore, the gateway features 24 T-hangars which are available for monthly rent.

The airport’s terminal building – a converted barn – has 5,249sqft on the first floor and 3,276sqft on the second and is home to the restaurant, storage and maintenance facilities, the pilot shop and the office classroom.
