Oslo Airport to get Norway’s first YO! Sushi

Food & Beverage operator SSP is set to open the first YO! Sushi restaurant in Norway – and the first at an airport outside of the UK – at Oslo Airport in January next year.

Known as ‘the UK’s favourite Japanese restaurant’ YO! Sushi was at the forefront of the sushi revolution when it introduced the concept of the ‘kaiten’ sushi bar to London in 1997.

According to SSP, YO! Sushi provides diners with “fun, fast and fresh” Japanese food, which caters for all different types of taste buds.

Customers can choose from an extensive menu selection of sushi rolls, sashimi, Asian-inspired salads along with a variety of classic hot Japanese dishes including firecracker rice, yakisoba noodles, salmon teriyaki or katsu curry.

Meanwhile, each dish is freshly prepared by highly skilled sushi chefs in front of diners.

Furthermore, sushi boxes which can be carried onto a flight are also available, giving time-pressed passengers even more flexibility. YO! Sushi also serves a selection of Japanese beers, sake and wine.

Andrew Lynch, CEO of SSP, said: “Our research shows us that customers in Norway have become great fans of the Japanese way of preparing and serving seafood, and we know that they will enjoy the excitement and the theatre of a visit to YO! Sushi.”

The brand will be one of 30 outlets to be operated by SSP at the gateway from November this year as part of a major redevelopment of the airport.
