Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport reports a 32% rise in passengers and a 27% increase in cargo tonnage during the first eight month of 2010.

The figures translate to 12.7 million passengers – 8.1 million (+25%) of which travelled on international flights – and 80,000 tonnes of freight. In August 2010, the airport handled 2.1 million passengers (+29%) and 10,800 tonnes of cargo.

Airlines experiencing the highest upturn in traffic throughout 2010 at the Moscow gateway include Aeroflot, Transaero, Avianova, Air France, KLM and Air China.
