Lambert-St Louis International Airport has won the ‘Airport of the Year’ award for security from the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Meanwhile, at a ceremony in Washington earlier this week, Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, won an airport director award from the TSA for the gateway's response during the tornado that struck in April this year.
Furthermore, Bill Switzer, the federal security director at Lambert-St Louis, won the award for best security director.
The criteria for the Airport of the Year award includes demonstrating exceptional courtesy while offering high quality security. This is the first time Lambert-St Louis has won the award for security.
