Over 4.7 million passengers (+1.7%) used Denver International Airport in June to continue the gateway’s positive growth trend in 2010.
Consistent growth over the first half of 2010 brought the year-to-date passenger traffic to 25.1 million, an increase of 828,975 passengers, or 3.4% over the same period in 2009.
Looking at 2008, which was a benchmark year for DIA, passenger numbers for June 2010 are down slightly; 4.8 million passengers travelled through DIA during the same month of that year, a difference of 39,647 passengers.
“The numbers we’ve seen during the first six months of the year are consistently showing that we are moving in the right direction,” says Kim Day, DIA’s manager of aviation. “It has been a very busy summer at DIA. Seeing continual growth month after month gives us hope that we are on the road to economic recovery in our industry.”
