Olle Sundin part of Swedavia management shake up

Another shake up in the management structure at Swedavia’s airports will see Olle Sundin leave his post at Göteborg Landvetter Airport to take over as airport director of Bromma Stockholm Airport in January.

Another shake up in the management structure at Swedavia’s airports will see Olle Sundin leave his post at Göteborg Landvetter Airport to take over as airport director of Bromma Stockholm Airport in January.

Sundin will fill the void left by Kjell-Åke Westin who left Bromma to become the new airport director of Stockholm Arlanda Airport earlier this year.

Westin replaced Arlanda’s Kerstin Lindberg Göransson on the 10 September with the directive to further enhance the airport’s national and international competitiveness.

According to the Swedish airport operator Swedavia, Sundin has been appointed to the role because of his “extensive experience and expertise in managing airports undergoing change”.

Demand for travel to and from Bromma Stockholm Airport is sharply on the rise, and the gateway will need to be appropriately developed in terms of size and infrastructure to accommodate the growth, the operator said.

The airport will also need to be modified to accommodate “rail-bound mass transit”.

Swedavia said that Sundin would continue in his role as airport director at Göteborg Landvetter until a replacement has been found.

Torborg Chetkovich, CEO of Swedavia, said: “Olle Sundin has extensive experience as a manager as well as expertise in our operations.

“This, together with his broad international network and extensive experience in working with the business community and public sector, corresponds very well with what is needed to drive development at Bromma Stockholm Airport in the right direction.”

Sundin has been airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport for the last three years where he has spearheaded advances in environmental performance and worked on expanding the range of airlines and destinations on offer.

He said: “I am looking forward to taking on the challenges that the airport faces and continuing to develop Bromma Stockholm Airport into a modern city airport, together with employees, airlines and other companies and organizations.”

In addition to his most recent job as airport director at Göteborg Landvetter Airport, Sundin has also served as director of the Group Airports Division at LFV, with responsibility for seventeen airports in Sweden, as well as a spell as the operational director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
