Phil Brown is the new executive director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, taking over from Steve Gardner, who retires today (friday).

A long-term favourite for the position, Brown steps up from deputy executive director and will assume responsibility for running Orlando International Airport and Orlando Executive Airport on September 20.

“With his excellent and strong reputation in the financial community and as an accredited airport executive by AAAE, we are confident that Phil Brown has the vision and ability to manage near-term financial demands and lay the foundation for a future vision,” enthuses the gateway’s chairman of the board, Cesar Calvet.

In addressing his role and new position, Brown, comments: “I look forward to working with the Board and staff to build on our strengths as we strive to establish Orlando International as a model intermodal centre for the state, the nation and the world.”
