History buffs now have a new venue to check out in Miami – Miami International Airport, courtesy of a new photo exhibition showcasing the gateway’s past.

The photos are part of an exhibition called ‘Aviation in Miami: The First 100 years’ currently on display at the Florida gateway.

Miami International Airport (MIA) has also run a series of historic, black and white photos for another exhibition entitled ‘100 Latinos/Hispanos Miami: A Journey of Success’.

Yolanda Sánchez, MIA’s director of airport fine arts and cultural affairs, claims that the airport uses art as a form of entertainment.

“We’ve tried to show original artists and showcase historical events or collections that reflect our community over time,” says Sanchez.
