Malta Airport sees 8% increase in passenger numbers

Malta Airport saw an 8% increase in traffic in January, with passenger numbers rising to 180,000, a record for the month.

Malta Airport saw an 8% increase in traffic in January, with passenger numbers rising to 180,000, a record for the month.

The average seat load factor hit 66.3%, an increase of 1.1 percentage points, while aircraft movements increased by 4.1%.

The Italian market registered the highest increase, with 5,808 more passengers, equivalent to an increase of 17.8%.

The UK saw registered an increase of 3,892 passengers (6.8%), while Libya saw an increase of 2,115 passengers (45.6%).

The French market registered an increase of 1,163 passenger movements (20.8%). The German market dipped by 0.2%.
