Phnom Penh International Airport has opened the first Burger King in Cambodia.

Phnom Penh International Airport has opened the first Burger King in Cambodia.

The 200sqm outlet is located between the Arrivals and Departures and the airport hopes it will not be the last internationally recognised brand to join the airport.

Emmanuel Menanteau, CEO of Cambodia Airports, said: “This is a vote of confidence in the airport. We are definitely looking for more international signatures whether in the retail or the food and beverage segments.”

Patrine Tay, marketing and sales director, added: “The rapid internationalisation of Cambodia demands a corresponding change in our airport’s commercial offering.

“We are positive that Burger King, a globally known quick service restaurant, will be well-received by our airport customers.”

Later this year, Cambodia Airports is launching a programme to double its capacity to five million passengers, with focus on increasing and improving the commercial areas.

The works are scheduled to be complete by 2015.
