Parsons is serving as the lead designer for Phase II: Package A of the project, which will extend the Metrorail system from Wiehle Avenue, in Fairfax County, Virginia, another 11.4 miles northwest, through Washington Dulles International Airport, to a terminus in eastern Loudoun County.
The project includes the design and construction of all rail line, stations, and systems for this section.
“Parsons is honoured to have been chosen to participate in this significant project,” enthuses Todd Wager, president of the Parsons Group.
“We have a long, successful history of delivering projects for MWAA, and I’m confident that this project will add to our record of success.”
This project is the largest of three design-build packages that will complete Phase II.
When complete, it will offer convenient transportation to and from Washington Dulles and the surrounding area, as well as offer a cleaner transportation option that can improve air quality for the region.
The Metrorail Station above is under construction in the media of the Dulles International Airport Access Highway. It is the prototype for five stations in Phase 2 of the project.
