Cargo rise was fuelled by logistics firm DHL who expanded their operations at the Danish airport with 20 extra daily take-offs and the hiring of an additional 85 employees.
And a record number of 7,037,210 travellers also departed and arrived over the summer period from June to August with August alone seeing 6.4% more than the same month in 2012.
CEO Thomas Woldbye said both bode well for the airport’s future.
He says: “August of this year was the busiest ever.
“The last part of the holiday traffic and not least business traffic both helped boost passenger numbers.
“The increased volume of air cargo is a clear indication that growth is picking up and this is good news for Denmark and Danish business.”
