The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's (PCRM) 13th annual Airport Food Review found 80% of BWI Marshall restaurants serve at least one healthy option for travellers.
The PCRM review specifically highlighted the Silver Diner, Chesapeake Café, and Rams Head Tavern for the healthy dishes it serves up.
Last year the airport was ranked in 10th place in the review by PCRM dieticians, which assessed 18 of the 30 busiest US airports.
Paul Wiedefeld, chief executive officer of BWI Marshall, says: “We are committed to ensuring healthy options for our travellers.
“We continue working with our concessions developer, AIRMALL Maryland, to provide healthy selections for travellers.
“We’re pleased that BWI Marshall has been recognized for its efforts to help enable travelers to make smart dining choices when they’re on the go.”
Healthy menu choices in the BWI Marshall concessions program is part of an ongoing effort to present healthy lifestyle choices for passengers and employees.
