Miami International renovates military lounge

Miami International Airport (MIA) has renovated its Military Hospitality Lounge to improve the facilities for servicemen.

The refurbished lounge is open seven days a week from 9am to 9pm and located on the second level of MIA’s Central Terminal.

The 3,500-square-foot facility features a main lounge, two private rest areas, a children's play area and computers equipped for servicemen and women to access the US military database with their military identification.

Complimentary refreshments and computer, Internet and telephone service are also offered for veterans and active duty military members and their families.

Miami-Dade Aviation director, Emilio González, says: “This is yet another first rate amenity that MIA provides to our customers – in this case, to our American servicemen and women and their families, so that they can recharge during their travels.

“This is our county’s way of thanking our servicemen and women every single day for their sacrifices.”
