Two restaurants opened at Toronto Pearson

Toronto Pearson International Airport has announced the opening of two new restaurants from leading local chefs.

Acer by Guy Rubino will open in Terminal 3 next week, joining Hemant Bhagwani’s Marathi, which recently opened in Terminal 1.

The new openings are the final two restaurants from the airport’s partnership with restauranteur, OTG Management.

Since the partnership was announced in April 2012, 11 new dining concepts have opened at Toronto Pearson.

Mike Ross, director of commercial development for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), commented: “Our relationship with OTG has allowed us to bring the distinct cultural tastes of Toronto to the travelling public.

“It has helped us to deliver on our promise of bringing new experiences that surprise and delight our passengers.”

The Indian concept, Marathi, has a menu developed by the owner of the popular Amaya empire, Hemant Bhagwani.

The menu offers Indian “street food” and other delicacies, as well as an Indian-inspired breakfast menu, sweets and beverages.

Acer is a modern Japanese concept with a menu developed by former owner and executive chef of Rain/Ame, Guy Rubino.

It celebrates fresh ingredients and traditional techniques, and features dishes including salmon and hamachi.

Accompanying its Terminal 1 counterpart, Vinifera will open a second location in Terminal 3 next week.

As with all OTG concepts, the new dining options offer travellers free access to iPads at each seat with menus available in 20 languages.

The look and feel of each concept was created in partnership with architect and Toronto native, Lionel Ohayon on ICRAVE.
