World's biggest ribbon put up at Dubai International

Dubai Airports unveiled the world’s biggest ribbon today as part of its support to raise awareness of cancer.

The 128-foot long and 60-foot wide ribbon, has been made in 24 colours and covers the air traffic control tower at Dubai International Airport.

It is part of a campaign with a theme of ‘Early Detection Saves Lives’ and the ribbon spans the entire height of the ATC tower.

The initiative was launched under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chairman of Dubai Airports.

The campaign will see airport employees given free check-ups at facilities in Terminals 1 and 3.

Dubai International had a record breaking 2013, handling more than 66.4 million passengers and is one of the fastest growing airports in the world.
