The online edition of the Bangkok Post, reports that operator Airports of Thailand will work with True Corporation under a five-year agreement, worth 620 million baht (€14 million).
WiFi is already available at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, Mae Fah Luang in Chiang Rai, Phuket and Hat Yai, but the service is limited to designated areas.
AoT chairman Sita Divari, explains to the post, the signal will blanket all areas at the six airports starting in April, which will help boost the potential of AoT airports to international standards and improve services.
And he adds each user would be limited to two hours, while the service would run at a maximum speed of 10 megabytes per second.
The six airports handle about 88 million local and foreign passengers every year, with Suvarnabhumi, Phuket and Chiang Mai attracting the most air travellers.
