SSP to run nine F&B outlets at Athens International

Le Grand Comptoir Le Grand Comptoir

Athens International Airport's F&B offering will be transformed after SSP was awarded a seven-year contract worth €42 million to run nine outlets.

The new restaurants and cafés welcomed their first customers in March 2014.

In the main terminal building, on level 2, in the landside departure area, there will be a 500-metre square food court, featuring international brands as well as concepts designed to reflect the local cuisine.

SSP’s brasserie brand Le Grand Comptoir will be one of the highlights of the food court, serving internationally appealing French menu, while passengers can also enjoy the authentic flavours of Greece at Greek themed eatery Plate’a.

They will also be able to choose between up-scale bakery brand Panopolis, pizza, pasta and panini outlet Negroni, and Asian concept Yum Cha, offering sushi Asian style foods.

A salad bar, a juice bar and a ‘grab and go’ area will complete the line-up.

On the mezzanine level landside there will be Italian restaurant La Pasteria, along with a Flocafe coffee lounge.

Commenting on the new deal, Kate Swann, CEO of SSP, says: “Athens International Airport serves a large and growing number of international passengers, and we are delighted to be investing in this important European destination.”
