ASUR reports second quarter profit drop of 15.24%

Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (Asur) has reported its second-quarter profit for this year fell by a sizeable 15.24%.

The Mexican operator, which runs Cancun, Merida, Cozumel, Villahermosa, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Huatulco, Tapachula and Minatitlan airports in the southeast of Mexico, explains the figure this year was hit by higher taxes.

Asur, earned MXP554.75 million pesos ($42.7 million), compared to MXP654.50 million ($50 million) in the same quarter recorded in 2013.

The operator says revenue did though rise 4.46% to MXP1.341 billion pesos ($100 million), which was fuelled by the rise of passenger traffic during the quarter, that increased by 10.65%.
