The gateway in the Canadian state of Alberta is in conjunction with the airport’s new international terminal for Delta Air Lines, and is within the terminal complex currently under construction.
YYC will offer direct guest access to the hotel lobby from the international terminal’s flight arrival and departures levels and vehicle access at the departures level.
Complementing the superior guest convenience are unobstructed views of both the busy rampside operations and curbside surrounding areas.
The new hotel will consist of 318 guest rooms and suites; more than 17,000 square feet of conference and meeting space including a 6,000 square feet ballroom for up to 500 people.
It offers a combination of executive boardroom-style and conference rooms; a restaurant and lounge; a spa and indoor pool; and a state-of-the-art fitness centre, overlooking the airport runways and Rocky Mountain peaks.
Stephan Poirier, senior vice president and CCO, explains: “We are pleased the Delta Hotels and Resorts has selected YYC to expand their business by adding a new four-star hotel experience to our growing airport.
“The new brand, combined with Delta’s reputation for delivering first-rate amenities and world-renowned customer service, will be a great addition to our state-of-the-art international facility and another great on-airport hotel option for the millions of visitors that come through YYC each year.”
Ken Greene, president & CEO, Delta Hotels and Resorts, says the firm is thrilled to be part of the expansion and advancement with the opening of the landmark hotel.
“With more than 14 million business and leisure travellers transiting YYC each year, we are excited to welcome guests with our fresh, modern design and unparalleled convenience and service. It will be an oasis for international and domestic travellers,” Greene adds.
