The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) has launched a celebration at Midway International Airport to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Midway terminal building, which opened on March 7, 2001.

The week long series of special events for passengers will include discounts at concessions, musical entertainment and airline-sponsored raffles for free tickets.

"We are excited to mark this important milestone at Midway. The airport has flourished since the construction of the new terminal building with increases in passenger volume and enhancements to the concessions programme,” said CDA Commissioner Rosemarie Andolino.

“As we celebrate this special occasion, we look forward to further enhancing and expanding passenger services and amenities at both Chicago’s airports.”

In 2010, Midway experienced a nearly 4% increase in passenger volume, as well as increases in aircraft operations and non-airline revenue.
