Traffic rises at Copenhagen

A total of 1.5 million passengers passed through Copenhagen Airport in February – 5.5% more than during the corresponding month last year.

A total of 1.5 million passengers passed through Copenhagen Airport in February – 5.5% more than during the corresponding month last year.

The total, which would have been even higher if it had not been for the unrest in the Middle East, means that passenger traffic at the gateway is 7% up for the year.

“Growth continues in both domestic and international traffic, but the drop in charter traffic indicates that the unrest in the Middle East – particularly Egypt – has dampened overall growth as both Danish charter operators and Egypt Air cancelled almost all flights to Egypt in February,” explains Carsten Nørland, vice president of sales and marketing at Copenhagen Airport.

Egypt Air resumed flights to and from Cairo February 27th.
