Denver International seeks name ideas for new plaza

Denver International Airport is seeking proposals for the naming of its new outdoor plaza. 

The gateway is calling for name ideas for the the plaza that will connect the new Westin Hotel and Conference Center with the existing Jeppesen Terminal, and the plaza will be a new space for arts, entertainment and relaxation.

Denver International explains it is looking to name the after a person who has made a significant contribution to the success of the airport from a cultural, political, economic or social perspective.

The Hotel and Transit Center Program will bring passengers new amenities with a 519-room Westin hotel and conference centre, a new transit center serving all Regional Transportation District buses and the new East Rail Line and a public plaza.

The Westin hotel and conference center will open in late 2015 and the new RTD East Rail Line will begin operations in 2016.

Nominations will be accepted until September 30, 2014 and the selected name will be announced at a public dedication on February 28, 2015, and can be made online at http://denplaza.flydenver.com
