Helsinki Airport has unveiled a new 500sqm duty free shop that it hopes will boost sales by offering passengers a greater selection of international brands and “high quality Finnish products”.

The outlet – located close to gate 22 in the area of Terminal 2 dedicated to European flights – will be joined by a second new duty free shop this summer that is targeted to appeal to the long-haul traveller.

Both will feature ‘Best of Finland’ gifts in addition to more traditional duty free items.

Talking about Finnish gifts, Finavia’s senior vice president of commercial services, Sari Saari, notes: “Food gifts are very popular among both Finns and foreign visitors.

"Our Best of Finland local food products also allow us to promote Finland's image as a producer of pure, high-quality foods.”
