Ceremony held to mark work at Pittsburgh Airport business park

A groundbreaking ceremony has been held at Pittsburgh International Airport to mark the start of construction on the fourth building at Pittsburgh International Business Park (PIBP).

Allegheny County executive Rich Fitzgerald, along with officials from the Allegheny County Airport Authority and Continental/Chaska LLC, marked Building 300, the fourth of the PIBP, on Cherrington Parkway in Moon Township.

The first two buildings, 100 and 110, of PIBP opened in 2013 and are occupied by ServiceLink, while the third, 210, has just completed construction and is also fully leased.

The project is a joint venture of Continental Real Estate Companies and developer Dick Donley’s Chaska Property Advisors, and PIBP is a state-of-the-art Flex Office project managed by Continental/Chaska LLC.

The 40-acre site is owned by Allegheny County, leased to the airport authority and is being developed in conjunction with the Moon Transportation Authority (MTA).

David Minnotte, Allegheny County Airport Authority board chairman, explains: “Pittsburgh International Airport's role as an economic generator is two-fold – to provide high quality, competitive air service in and out of southwestern PA and to develop key properties to attract new industry and jobs.

“The Pittsburgh International Business Park is one of numerous development projects on airport property.”
