New toy store opens at Edinburgh Airport

With Christmas just around the corner, Edinburgh Airport has shopping all wrapped up with the launch of a new toy store.

Wizz, an independent retailer specialising in toys and gadgets, has opened its first Scottish store in Edinburgh's departure lounge, stocking everything passengers need to make Christmas extra fun for children and adults alike.

Currently found in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Manchester and Birmingham airports, Wizz has launched its first Scottish store with a special shopping pod in the country’s busiest airport, ideal for last-minute  novelty gifts or something fun to take home for the kids.

Richard Townsend, head of retail and property at Edinburgh Airport, says: “We’re committed to providing choice at Edinburgh Airport so that our passengers have the best shopping experience.

“We believe Wizz is the perfect addition to our growing retail portfolio and it’s already proving to be very popular with our passengers. With the airport’s Shop and Collect service also available, customers can buy their gifts and leave them at the airport to collect on the way home.

“It’s getting to that time of year where people are starting to think about Christmas and our new toy pod is the ideal place to buy stocking fillers and gifts for all the family.

"We’ll even be opening a gift wrapping station next door from mid-November making it easier to get ready for Christmas.”

The Wizz toy pod is open daily from 7am until 7pm.

Nigel Caddick, managing director of Wizz, comments: “I am delighted that Wizz has been given this opportunity to introduce a full toy range at Edinburgh Airport. The initial reaction from customers has been excellent and we’re looking forward to a busy lead up to Christmas.”
