The first Starbucks in the Bordeaux region, the 30-metre square, kiosk-format store is located in the airport’s Hall A, and can seat 15 customers.
The arrival of the Starbucks brand will add a new dimension to the airport’s already diverse F&B offer and is being welcomed by domestic and international travellers.
A second outlet is scheduled to open in Spring next year, outside the airport buildings between Hall B and the Billi terminal.
Pascal Personne, director of Bordeaux Airport is delighted with the new opening: “The airport is very proud to be the location of the first Starbucks in Bordeaux. SSP shares our vision for our customers, and this innovative choice will undoubtedly further improve the traveller’s experience.
“The new concept, which was especially designed for the airport, invites passengers to relax from the moment they arrive at the airport, and with the number of international passengers travelling through Bordeaux up by 20% in 2014, we believe it will be very well received.”
The new coffeehouse offers a comprehensive range of products, including Fairtrade certified ethically grown and sourced Arabica coffees as well as a range of sweet and savoury snacks throughout the day.
Gérard d’Onofrio, managing director SSP France, Belgium and Holland, says: “We are particularly pleased to be opening this, our twelfth, Starbucks coffeehouse in France with our partners at this important airport.”
Olivier de Mendez, regional director for Starbucks France said the opening was an important step for the company’s development in the French market.
