Traffic record in 2014 at JFK's revamped Terminal 4

Traffic into Terminal 4 at New York’s JFK International Airport surpassed the 17 million passenger milestone in 2014, an increase of 2.6 million or 18% above the total in 2013.

The results cap-off a great year for operator JFKIAT LLC, which has carried out an expansion, and opened retail shops, F&B outlets and added new global airline to its roster, in the shape of China Southern.

To celebrate the landmark occasion, JFKIAT, Delta Air Lines, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey awarded prizes and perks to the seventeen millionth passenger, including upgraded seats and a shopping spree at the Terminal’s retailers.

Gert-Jan de Graaff, president and CEO of JFKIAT LLC, says: “Terminal 4 had an extraordinary year thanks to our exceptional staff, our airline partners, concession operators and air travellers from all over the globe.

“We are looking forward to an even more successful 2015 for one of the country’s most active air terminals.”

Expansion at Terminal 4, is continuing in 2014, and Phase II of a $1.4 billion renovation will be completed this month and has added 11 more gates to the terminal’s B Concourse.
