New celebrity owned burger restaurant opens at Toronto Pearson

Burger lovers are spoilt for choice at Toronto Pearson International Airport following the opening of a new Wahlburgers restaurant.

The outlet comes courtesy of SSP Canada and its Terminal 1 location is the first at any airport.

Known as much for serving up quality food as for their celebrity owners, Wahlburgers has achieved phenomenal success since it opened its first restaurant in Hingham, Massachusetts in 2011.

Backed by an Emmy-nominated, top-rated A&E reality television show, the concept is the brainchild of executive chef and owner/brother Paul Wahlberg, who has over 30 years of culinary experience in some of Boston’s finest restaurants.
During a recent visit to Toronto Pearson, he enthused: “Toronto is an incredible city with an authentic, diverse food culture. We’re delighted to be opening our second restaurant in Toronto and to be welcoming the passengers of Toronto Pearson to Wahlburgers.”

Brother, Donnie Wahlberg, also commented: “Paul and I are incredibly proud of our team here and thrilled to be working with our SSP partners in bringing Wahlburgers to its first airport location.  

"We promise to treat each and every passenger as a member of the Wahlberg family, giving them the best possible service.”

At Toronto Pearson, Wahlburgers invites passengers to try one of chef Paul’s freshly ground beef burgers, a variety of fresh-cut salads, tator tots (deep fried grated potatoes) or mother Alma’s famous macaroni salad all made in house, using only the freshest ingredients.  

Accented by Wahlburgers’ signature pop of bright green hues and trademark 'W' logo, the unit’s approximate 2,700 square foot interior offers ample seating for passengers who want to kick back with a juicy burger, a tall, cool drink and simply relax.  
“At Toronto Pearson, we are surpassing our passengers' expectations with unique dining experiences that you would not expect from an airport," says Mike Ross, director of commercial development for operator, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

"Wahlburgers is a very welcome addition to our programme. They feature a unique menu and high quality food for our passengers in a fun and friendly environment."
