South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival coming to Austin-Bergstrom

Music lovers are in for an extra special treat at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport next week as the Texas gateway celebrates the South by Southwest (SXSW) music festival.

For in addition to its regularly scheduled lives shows each week, Austin’s airport will present sanctioned SXSW showcases featuring Austin performers on March 14, 15, and 21, making it the first and last performances of SXSW music conference.

Performances will be held at the Asleep at the Wheel Stage at Ray Benson’s Roadhouse, located near Gate 10. 

The SXSW line-up on Monday, March 14, includes Suzanna Choffel (Indie Soul/Jazzy Pop), who will be live and unleashed between 1pm and 3pm followed by  Charlie Belle (Alternapop) from 3.30pm–5.30pm.

On Tuesday, March 15, Jai Malano (Modern Blues Vocalist) take to the stage between 1pm-3pm and followed by Faye & The Fayettes (Smart Soul-Pop) from 3.30pm-5.30pm.

Finally, on Monday, March 21, the SXSW spotlight will be on Jackie Venson (Indie Blues Guitarist & Singer) between 12.30pm-2.30pm and then Carson McHone (Alt-Country/Americana Songwriter) from 3pm-5pm.

Airport concessionaire DNC has been a sponsor of live music at Austin-Bergstrom since its inception.

The Airport SXSW Showcase is also made possible by Pepsi, Broadcast Music, Inc (BMI), and Bud Light.

"The SXSW shows make for extra musical fun added to the airport’s usual live music performances," says the Texas gateway.

"Austin-Bergstrom International Airport regularly hosts 21 live music performances in five different venues Monday through Friday wth daily performances taking place at four different venues across the airport."
