As part of their contract, CH2M will provide airfield modifications and improvements needed to address nonstandard airfield geometry, specifically geometric standards of airfield pavements.
The scope of work includes implementing modifications and improvements to airfield pavements and infrastructure to increase safety, minimise pilot confusion, mitigate published hot spots and address nonstandard geometry.
It also covers conducting a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) inspection of the existing pavements; updating the Pavement Management System for the entire airfield; designing new pavement; rehabilitating existing pavement; or removing and replacing distressed runway, taxiway and shoulder pavements.
And providing support for associated airfield elements related to planned improvements, such as pavement markings, grading and drainage improvements, lighting and signage, stormwater pollution prevention, stormwater management, construction phasing, maintenance of traffic, utilities, navigational aids (NAVAIDS) and airfield electrical work.
