Angel wings art installation at Los Angeles International Airport

Los Angeles World Airports and Westfield have teamed up with the Global Angel Wings Project to engage travellers this summer through a unique, artwork painted live at LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal.

Colette Miller, local LA artist and creator of the famous Global Angel Wings Project, painted the interactive art at the terminal on August 22nd.

The Los Angeles inspired wings, located on Departures Level 3 in pre-security in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, can be viewed until mid-September and provides travellers with the chance to pose for pictures and post to social media using #iflyLAX.

The Global Angel Wings Project was launched in Downtown LA's Arts District in 2012 to "uplift, inspire and remind us of our shared humanity".

Miller says: “I created the interactive street art angel wings project to remind humanity that we are the angels of Earth.”

Without prompting, people began posing with the wings and shared the photos on social media and has since become one of the most popular interactive street art installations on social media.
