Opened in conjunction with airport operator, RIOgaleão, the move is part of an initiative to enhance the experience for travellers departing, transiting and arriving at Rio de Janeiro.
The gateway will have a total of three lounges across the airport the South Pier and Car Park Building of Terminal 2.
Lounges opened in International Departures and Domestic Departures last month and the final facility in Arrivals is expected to open in October.
According to Plaza Premium Lounge, all three new lounges will offer a sense of place.
Indeed, domestic and international travellers can now have a taste of local culture even upon their arrival or departure from the airport.
The vibrant Carioca design is reflected everywhere in the lounges, from the use of furniture, murals, carpet to graffiti artwork, bringing memories of the Copacabana beach and other landscapes of the city.
As part of this concept, the food and beverage offerings developed by Plaza Premium's executive chef comprise a variety of hot and cold authentic delicacies at the buffet counters and live cooking stations, which are further coupled with a selection of drinks appreciated by both Brazilians and foreigners, including the famous caipirinha on the beverage menu.
