Dubai World Central welcomes new A380 service from Korean Air

Dubai World Central–Al Maktoum International Airort (DWC) achieved a new milestone on Wednesday when it welcomed its first scheduled A380 passenger flight – Korean Air’s flight KE9951 from Seoul, South Korea.

The flight – from Incheon International Airport – is the first of a series of scheduled charter flights the carrier will operate to DWC in addition to their existing scheduled operations to neigbouring Dubai International Airport (DXB).

The scheduled charter operations serve seasonal demand for Dubai cruises to the UAE and Gulf region.

As is common practice at airport's today, the first flight was given a traditional water salute upon arrival.

DWC welcomed a total of 850,633 passengers in 2016 and is currently served by 27 passenger carriers, operating an average of 108 flights weekly to 44 international destinations.
