Bengaluru International Airport has won the award for Best Emerging Airport – Indian Sub Continent at the Emerging Markets Airports Awards (EMAA), for the second year in a row.
The other top four contenders included airports from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Bengaluru was voted the best emerging airport in a poll of airport industry chiefs throughout the world.
GV Sanjay Reddy, managing director at Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), said: “This award goes to showcase the hard work the entire BIAL airport community puts in to stand out for the larger aviation group we work within.
“It is not only a testimony of the promise this airport holds for the future but also the positive sentiments of the industry towards our airport.”
