Lufthansa expands route network from Frankfurt and Munich

Lufthansa and low-cost subsidiary Eurowings continues to expand its tourist-oriented long-haul programme from its Frankfurt and Munich hubs.

Beginning with the launch of the 2020 summer schedules, leisure travellers in particular will benefit from new destinations in North America as Lufthansa expands its services to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Anchorage, Seattle and Detroit.

The majority of the flights, which will operate in co-operation with Eurowings, will utilise a fleet of Airbus A330 aircraft with up to 270 seats.

Eurowings will serve a number of popular destinations from Frankfurt in the 2019/20 winter schedules, including Barbados, Mauritius, Las Vegas and Windhoek.

“The Lufthansa Group is significantly increasing its commitment at the Munich hub and continuing its expansion to a hub for Asia with the addition of Bangalore," says Lufthansa executive board member, Harry Hohmeister.

"We will therefore be expanding our long-haul programme from Frankfurt and Munich in co-operation with Eurowings in addition to the offers that have already been planned for Fall 2019.

"Lufthansa’s feeder flights and the Frankfurt and Munich hubs will make it even easier for our passengers to reach the most beautiful places in the world in future."

Eurowings CEO, Thorsten Dirks, says:
“With the new 2020 summer destinations from Frankfurt and Munich, we are once again demonstrating how we combine the strengths of the two airlines to the benefit of our customers."
