Business aviation at Al Bateen Executive Airport has jumped by 40% between January and June compared with the same period last year, according to Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC).

Commercial movements at the airport also increased 12% over the first six months of the year to more then 4,500.

The news follows the recent arrival of Al Bateen’s fifth operator, Rotana Jet, which launched operations from the airport in early 2011.

Stephen Jones, general manager at Al Bateen Executive Airport said: “Al Bateen is seeing outstanding performance in the growth of business jet movements, especially from visiting aircraft and new operators that have not used the airport before.

Traffic will continue to grow as more business aircraft operators such as Rotana Jet, will be basing aircraft at ADAC’s dedicated business aviation airport.”
