Two new Italian restaurants have opened at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
Boccone Trattoria Veloce and its fast-food alternative Boccone Pronto have been created with Canadian celebrity chef Massimo Capra and SSP Canada.
The menus at the new restaurants will feature classic Italian dishes as well as new twists on the country’s culinary staples.
Capra said: “Now travellers at Toronto can enjoy the same great food that they would in the world’s best airports such as JFK New York or London Heathrow.
“We have created a restaurant that will serve the same food, prepared to the same high standards as we do in town, and I’m very proud of this achievement.”
Pamela Griffith-Jones, vice president of guest and terminal services for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, added: “We are so excited to have Chef Massimo bring his expertise and love of food to Toronto Pearson.
“We are committed to significantly raising the bar in terms of the dining options at Toronto Pearson and in ensuring we are showcasing the best that Toronto and the region have to offer.
“Chef Massimo’s two restaurants are proof positive of that commitment.”
Massimo Capra was born in Italy, and moved to Canada in 1982. He is the co-owner of Toronto’s famous Mistura Restaurant and the highly-regarded Sopra Upper Lounge.
