Crisplant to install Singapore Changi Terminal 4 baggage system

Singapore Changi Airport has been awarded the baggage handling system contract for Terminal 4 to Crisplant.

The Beumer Group firm will supply a system that has 'high availability and resilience, a high degree of automation, and low in energy consumption'.

The check-in area will feature automated self-service bag-drop and check-in kiosks, as well as conventional check-in aisles.

All subsequent sortation is made using the latest-generation CrisBag system, that is said to ensure the highest level of availability, the shortest transport times and 100% track and trace capability.

The CrisBag system includes an early baggage store so that passengers who arrive early in the terminal may immediately check in their bags and proceed through to the terminal's airside areas.

Singapore Changi Airport broke ground on Terminal 4 in November 2013, and expects to welcome its first passengers in 2017.

Crisplant supplied and operates and maintains baggage systems at Changi’s Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
