Gamers and sports fans are in for a treat at Charlotte Douglas International Airport with the opening of a new EA SPORTS Experience.
Software company Electronic Arts has teamed up with Paradies Shops to open the first ‘EA SPORTS Experience’ at the North Carolina gateway.
Two more EA SPORTS stores are due to open across the United States later this year, one at Salt Lake City International Airport in October and one at the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City in November.
At the new shop, passengers at the airport are invited to play their favorite EA SPORTS videogames, buy merchandise of local sports teams, and purchase games and other EA SPORTS-branded apparel.
Meanwhile, passengers can also make use of comfortable seating areas to watch live sports on the TV, and ant at the same time use provided electrical outlets to charge their portable devices.
Christopher Erb, EA SPORTS vice president of brand marketing, said: “With a passionate local sports fan base and more than 20 million passengers travelling through the Charlotte Douglas International airport each year, this was an ideal location to open this venue.”
Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of Paradies Shops, added: “Paradies is proud to begin its exclusive partnership with EA SPORTS.
“We look forward to expanding our relationship with this innovative brand to offer customers a true interactive experience, unlike any other found in airports today.”
