Job title: Editor, Routes News
Routes News is looking for an energetic, talented and self-motivated new Editor to take the flagship publication for the global airline route development community to new heights.
About the Role
The Editor will be expected to:
• Plan, commission, write and oversee the production of eight issues of Routes News per annum
• Plan and oversee the daily news and feature content of routes news online (www.routes-news.com).
• Liaise with the client, Routes/UBM, on a weekly basis to ensure that their needs are being met
• Cover international conferences and events
The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the Editorial Director and his team and, when required, contribute articles across Aviation Business Media’s expanding portfolio of titles, which include Airport World, Airline Fleet Management and Asia-Pacific Airports magazines.
About the person
You will be expected to be an excellent communicator, planner and writer and have the ability to transform all types of articles into lively and interesting features.
As this is a key role at Aviation Business Media, the successful candidate must have a minimum of 18 months experience working as an editor or deputy editor on a trade magazine or regional newspaper.
Online news and data reporting experience and knowledge of the aviation industry would be a major plus but are not essential.
The successful candidate must also have a keen eye for detail, an ability to quickly get to grips with a complex subject matter and be a good team player as this is no position for someone who prefers to work alone.
You will be working in a global arena, so strong cultural awareness and a flexible approach is required.

Job title: Reporter
We are looking for an energetic and talented reporter to produce breaking, daily online news for our growing portfolio of titles spearheaded by Airport World, Airline Fleet Management, Routes News and Asia-Pacific Airports.
Source and report daily on the major events and news across the aviation industry
Support online news coverage through the use of social networking channels
Interview top industry executives
Cover international conferences and contribute online news from events
Contribute regular features for all four magazines
Be responsible for some well-established regular features across the magazine portfolio
You will be expected to be able to work independently in building an enviable contacts book and to support the editorial team with building online communities.
Skills and experience
A minimum of 18 months working as a reporter on a trade magazine or regional newspaper. Online news reporting experience and knowledge of the aviation industry would be a major plus, but is not essential.
This is a challenging but highly rewarding role that requires a great news sense, the ability to dig up exclusives and report across a number of platforms. The successful candidate will have a good attitude and be a team player with excellent communications skills and the ability to write compelling copy.
You will be working within a global arena, so strong cultural awareness and a flexible approach is required. You will be able to work independently to tight deadlines within a small team environment and to be able to travel internationally with a team as well as alone.

Aviation Business Media is looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic intern to join its editorial team for an initial one-month period. The successful candidate will be expected to assist and work closely with the company’s editors/journalists on the production of daily online news and features for Airport World, Airline Fleet Management and Routes News magazines. Duties will include carrying out research for magazine features; writing news stories; using social media to promote stories/key issues; and the upkeep of files/data.
